چکیده

Molecular sieving carbon (MSC) for separating O 2 -N 2 and CO 2 -CH 4 has been prepared through chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of methane and benzene on activated carbon spheres (ACS) derived from polystyrene sulfonate beads. The validity of the material for assessment of molecular sieving behavior for O 2 -N 2 and CO 2 -CH 4 pair of gases was assessed by the kinetic adsorption of the corresponding gases at 25 o C. It was observed that methane cracking on ACS lead to deposition of carbon mostly in whole length of pores rather than in pore entrance, resulting in a reduction in adsorption capacity. MSC showing good selectivity for CO 2 -CH 4 and O 2 -N 2 separation was obtained through benzene cracking on ACS with benzene entrantment

Study on diffusion coefficient of benzene and ethyl benzene vapours in nanoporous silica aerogel and silica aerogel-activated carbon composites

In this study, nanoporous silica aerogel and silica aerogel-activated carbon composites have been synthesized using a water glass precursor by cost effective ambient pressure drying method. Equilibrium and kinetics of benzene and ethyl benzene adsorption on silica aerogel and its composites have been measured in a batch mode at tree weights of adsorbent. For the first time, the experimental dat...

Measurement of Benzene in Air by Iranian Single-Wall Carbon Nanotubes

Background: Nanotechnology is a new approach that has been lionized in recent years. One of its applications is its consumption as an absorbent. In this study, the single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were used as an absorbent for sampling benzene in the air. Materials and Methods: For this study, SWCNTs manufactured by Iran and SKC’s activated charcoal were used for sampling benzene vapors....

Preparation of Carbon Molecular Sieves from Pistachio Shell and Walnut Shell for Kinetic Separation of Carbon Monoxide, Hydrogen, and Methane

In this study, two Carbon Molecular Sieves using Pistachio shell (CMS P) and Walnut shell (CMS W) were prepared by a chemical vapor deposition method and used for pressure swing adsorption and separation of CO/H2 and CO/CH4. Adsorption isotherms of gases obtained for both CMS’s. The Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherm model was used for comparing pore volum...
